CambridgeSide is a shopping destination with over 100 stores (Apple, Sears, Macy's, Best Buy, T.J. Maxx, H&M, A|X Armani Exchange, Banana Republic, J.Crew, Sephora and more) and restaurants (World of Beer, The Cheesecake Factory, and P. F. Chang's among others). Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, CambridgeSide opened in 1990. The original anchor stores were Sears, Filene's (converted to Macy's) and Lechmere. Lechmere closed in 1997 and it was divided into Best Buy, with a portion later used by Macy's for their housewares and intimate apparel departments.

The center was an outgrowth of the 1978 East Cambridge Riverfront Plan, which sought to revitalize the then-industrial district between Monsignor O'Brien Highway, Cambridge Parkway, and First Street. The east end of CambridgeSide is near the Museum of Science and the north end of CambridgeSide is near the MBTA Lechmere station on the Green Line "E" Branch. It is also located along the Lechmere Canal off the Charles River. Moorings are present at the end of the Canal to allow private boats to be left for brief periods while passengers shop. CambridgeSide is the only mall in the Boston area with direct access by boat.
